Let’s Make Art Like Artists is a platform for artist-inspired art lessons, creative art projects, and accessible art education for teachers, students, and curious art lovers.
This project highlights diverse artists — especially female artists — and turns their work into engaging art activities and learning resources.
Created by Anna Niestroj, Let’s Make Art Like Artists grew from a lifelong connection to art and a passion for teaching. After many years working as a designer, Anna began teaching Fine Arts at a public school in Berlin in 2019. She soon noticed that most students are introduced to only a small group of famous artists — and very rarely to women artists. This realization inspired her to develop her own artist-based lessons, art materials and creative teaching methods in the classroom.

Let’s Make Art Like Artists ist eine Website für Ideen im Kunstunterricht, künstler*inneninspirierte Kunstprojekte und kreative Kunstvermittlung. Die Plattform richtet sich an Lehrer*innen, Schüler*innen, Studierende und alle, die Kunst entdecken und selbst kreativ arbeiten möchten.
Gegründet wurde das Projekt von Anna Niestroj. Nach vielen Jahren als selbständige Designerin begann sie 2019, Bildende Kunst an einer öffentlichen Schule in Berlin zu unterrichten. Dabei stellte sie fest, dass viele Schüler*innen im Kunstunterricht nur eine kleine Auswahl bekannter Künstler kennenlernen – Künstlerinnen und vielfältige Perspektiven fehlen oft in der Kunstvermittlung.
Aus dieser Erfahrung entstand Let’s Make Art Like Artists: eine Sammlung von Ideen für den Kunstunterricht, kreative Projektideen für Kunstbegeisterte und didaktische Materialien für den Unterricht.
Diese Website stellt bedeutende Künstler*innen vor und übersetzt ihre Werke in praktische und inspirierende Unterrichtsideen mit kreativen Aufgaben, die Kunst und Kunstgeschichte lebendig, vielfältig und zugänglich machen.
